At the peak of a chocolate buttercream mountain
where the morning dew is as sweet as sugar
the pollination is by non-pareille
and the garden pests do little harm when they're spirals of caramel and marshmallow.
My son requested a chocolate strawberry cake for his 12th birthday. The snails were are an attempt to "boy it up". When asked what he thought of it, he said, he was "lucky to have a mother that makes him cakes". What a boy!
I'm the lucky one, sweetie. Happy Birthday!
Your cake is magic..........
ReplyDeleteOh my, your photography, and words.
You make it seem simple.

That cake is just gorgeous! You've decorated it beautifully, and I would love to have a piece!.... thanks for your post. My husband and I love old rock houses, so I had to share it with him. Ours was built in 1929, and about 50 years ago it was actually moved through the creek bed close by to it's current location. We looked forever before we found it,and have been here 7 years. It needed gobs of work, but has been well worth it. Have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteNow that is a gorgeous cake! I am in awe of your ability to decorate it so beautifully! And it looks very yummy. Hope your boy had a happy day!

I think you're both pretty lucky.
ReplyDeleteOh, that is such a great cake! You are indeed both lucky! I LOVE the snails. And the pic of the birthday boy with his hands posed menacingly above the cake reminds me of my 13 yr old...must be the age...Hope you had a wonderful birthday celebration!
ReplyDeleteMe thinks you need to be in the cake business...
ReplyDeleteI'd even eat some es-cargo if it looked like that! HA!
Gorgeous!!! I hope it was a happy happy birthday!!! Did you save me a piece of cake?
